Principal’s Message

Bridgeport Elementary School is located northwest of Chittenango’s village.  Bridgeport houses grades Kindergarten through Fifth with a total student population of 270 students.  Each grade level consists of 2 or 3 sections.  Our teachers and staff take great pride in our school community, providing many enriching experience for our students both academically and socially.

Classroom teachers, special area teachers, and support staff work as a team to ensure we are meeting State and Local academic standards.  Our curriculum incorporates the importance of being a responsible learner and citizen.  In addition to our academic programs our teachers also work together to meet the social and emotional needs of our students.

Bridgeport has a computer lab, that students use throughout the day, along with computers in each of the classrooms.  Many of our classrooms have “smart boards”, that help to enhance classroom instruction.  Our library has over 10,000 print and electronic resources that students and teachers can access in order to enhance their learning environment.

Parent involvement is strong at Bridgeport.  Parents serve on our Building Planning Team.  This team meets each month with the purpose of ensuring that our academic programs are moving forward and that we are providing students with enriched activities throughout the year.  We also have a PTA that meets several times throughout the year. PTA supports many of our school events such as Grandparent’s Day, Fifth Grade Community Day, and our Health and Fitness Day to name just a few.

Bridgeport Elementary is a school that welcomes it’s community.  Many organizations have visited the school and provided students with some wonderful experiences. We welcome family members and community members to volunteer at our school.
