Notes from your teacher . . .
Did you know that our school motto is "85 or higher"? This is an achievable goal for all students. If you have not earned the school-wide goal of 85 or higher, it is most likely due to one or more of the following factors:
Many absences (due to illness or music lessons) and a lot of missed work hasn't been completed yet
Homework isn't finished and/or turned in
Failure to study = low test scores (Have corrections been made?)
Unsure of assignments and have not sought help
Failure to stay 10th period for any of the above
I have Student Council meetings on Wednesdays during 10th period. However, you may usually sign up with Mrs. Korosec, Ms Teske, or Mrs. Hagan on one of those days.
Parents...
If your child's grades are lower than you expect or would like, please check his or her agenda first. If you find that your child is not writing down assignments, that is a first step towards turning things around for the better. As always, please don't hesitate to contact any of the teachers on our team if you have concerns about your child's progress.
It’s December!
A MESSAGE TO THE PARENTS: Is your child suddenly doing poorly in school? Is he or she failing the marking period already? If so, it’s not too late to do something about it. Most failing grades are a result of missing work. That may be from assignments not being finished, not being turned in, or not being completed at all. Missing class for a music lesson does not excuse a student from the work for that day. Anyone who is absent from school for more than a day should request to have work sent home so it doesn’t pile up. Please use mygradebook.com to stay informed about your child’s progress. Teachers are available 10th period to help students with their work. If you do not allow your child to stay 10th period, please send in a note so we have it on record.
I would like to welcome back Miss Henry as my substitute for the next few weeks. I will be out on medical leave for bit, and she will be taking over starting 12/15. Miss Henry was one of my student teachers a couple of years ago. She’s an amazing teacher and a wonderful person. The students are looking forward to working with her! I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday as I won’t have the opportunity to do so next week. Merry Christmas! May you always feel blessed!
A MESSAGE TO THE STUDENTS: 10th Period: Please check the clip board outside the classroom or ask me if I am available 10th period. Other commitments I have include Student Council, Social Studies Department Meetings, ELA Department meetings, and Staff Meetings.

How is your child’s binder looking these days? Does it look like it’s about to explode? Is it growing loose papers? As a team, we expect our students to use the rings of their binders to hold papers, NOT the pockets in the front. We reserve those for papers for parents like permission slips and book orders. If it appears your child is just stuffing papers in the binder, please have him/her take some time to sort through old papers, discard outdated material (except for math which will be needed to review), and reassemble everything into the rings. If the binder is starting to break, it may be time for a new one. Thank you for helping your child to be organized for school!
